Pedro Soler

Pedro Soler (born June 8, 1938 in Narbonne ) is a French guitarist of flamenco .

Live and act

Soler learned his instrument as a self-taught , influenced by Ramón Montoya . In the Spanish scene he accompanied Pericón de Cadix , Rafaël Romero and Bernado de Los Lobitos . The flamenco singer Jacinto Almadén had him trained by Pepe de Badajó to be his personal guitarist and went on tour with him. Later he accompanied the dancers Carmen Amaya , La Chunga and above all La Joselito . He also worked with Pepe de la Matrona , Juan Varea , Enrique Morente , Inès Bacàn , Germaine Montero and Maria Casarès .

He also played Rumba Catalana , recorded with the Brazilians Nonato Luiz or Maria Bethânia and the Argentinians Atahualpa Yupanqui and Raúl Barboza , and worked with the Greek singer Angélique Ionatos and the Indian Ravi Prasad as well as with the jazz musician Michel Doneda . He was also in the studio with Renaud Garcia-Fons , Majid Bekkas / Ramón López and Beñat Achiary . He is the musical director of the Guitares au Palais Festival in Perpignan .
