history

Initially, Amanda Lear hosted the show. The internationally known disco singer and presenter quickly caught the eye of German television audiences with her French accent and her eccentric manner. After Lear's annual contract had expired, Verona Feldbusch , who was still relatively unknown at the time, took over the show. Due to the press scandals at the time that accompanied Feldbusch's divorce from Dieter Bohlen , the show also gained increasing popularity.

After Feldbusch was injured in a violent argument with Bohlen, she was suspended for a month. Saskia Valencia took over the moderation for four programs . After her recovery, Feldbusch hosted the show again.

A special feature were Feldbusch's countless slip of the tongue, which were parodied in comedy shows such as RTL Saturday Night , Switch and Kalkofes TV screen . Feldbusch was supported by two assistants in their moderation. The scantily clad waiter Marko served cocktails to Verona and her celebrity guests, while Annina , also scantily clad, carried signs with erotic, joking slogans through the studio in catwalk style before the commercial breaks. A recurring element were multiple-choice questions before and after each commercial break, which the former porn actress Dolly Buster asked with the answer options A, B or C and thus achieved the top of her popularity.

After Feldbusch told the press in 1999 that she wanted Peep! because the contributions had become more and more pornographic, RTL II dissolved the contract with her.

Verena Araghi then moderated the show. The studio was completely redecorated, and Dolly Buster was no longer there. Previously, rumors of negotiations with Nadja Abd el Farrag leaked out . At that time the interest aroused because Abd el Farrag was Dieter Bohlen's current partner. Verena Araghi gave the show to her after only ten editions.

Already after the first broadcast, Abd el Farrag made a negative impression. She conducted an interview with a rubber doll of the then Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder (spoken by Elmar Brandt ), in which numerous slippery statements were made. Schröder then wrote an indignant letter to RTL II and even threatened to file a lawsuit. Abd el Farrag distanced herself from the interview, saying that she only read the pre-formulated questions that were given to her shortly before the show began.

With an average of 1.6 million viewers, the show had a market share of 9.6 percent and was well above the RTL II channel average.

For the 20th anniversary, there is an initially one-time new episode of the erotic show, which is to be broadcast on RTL II on August 31, 2020. Bonnie Strange acts as the moderator . Dolly Buster , Jenny Elvers and Olivia Jones are interviewed by Strange in the studio. In contrast to previous editions of the program, the focus is on entertainment and not "teaching". The new edition is produced by Vice Media in cooperation with RTL II.
