Switch - TV mercilessly parodied! is a comedy show that first aired in 1997 and has been repeated several times since then. Switch was modeled on the Australian series Fast Forward . A total of four seasons were produced by visuelle , a subsidiary of the Munich-based GAT film and television production GmbH & Co. KG on behalf of ProSieben . The series was created in the CBC Studios in Cologne-Ossendorf as well as in Cologne and the surrounding area. Directed by Sven Unterwaldt jr., Holger Schmidt and Christoph Schnee. After a break from 2000, the show was reissued in 2007 under the name Switch reloaded .

The original cast of the first two seasons consisted of Petra Nadolny , Susanne Pätzold , Mona Sharma , Michael Müller , Peter Nottmeier and Bernhard Hoëcker .
Mona Sharma left Switch after the second season. Michael Kessler and Bettina Lamprecht joined the troupe in the third season . For the fourth season, Susanne Pätzold left the Switch team and was replaced by Annette Frier . The actors played well-known actors, musicians, presenters and politicians in various skits based on different television formats.
concept
In Switch , most of the skits are mostly very detailed parodies of actual TV shows. Switch distinguishes itself from other comedy programs by a high gag density and a fast pace. The individual skits are put together in the program as if someone were using the remote control to “switch” through the TV channels (= switch quickly, also known as “zapping” ). These switching processes are indicated by a brief “snow flurry” on the screen and a “switching sound”. Almost every sketch is interrupted by another sketch and then come back to it. The time passed is also taken into account, the content of the sketch usually starts again a few minutes later in real time.

Facts, facts, facts
The “editorial team that researches topics that are really important” mainly plays board games such as packing suitcases or celebrity guessing . The rubric was invented by TV writer and writer Laabs Kowalski . All Switch actors played themselves on facts, facts, facts .
From these sketches come the saying “Hoëcker, you are out!” And his reply “Why is that?” Hoëcker always gives completely wrong or bizarre answers, which is why he has to keep dropping out. There is also a solo program by Hoëcker, the Hoëcker, you are out! called.
Another running gag is that Hoëcker says something, to which Sharma responds with a sentence. Hoëcker doesn't understand this acoustically and then understands it when Pätzold repeats the same sentence to him with the addition "What Ms. Sharma wanted to say to you was: ..."
Fact TV
At the beginning of season 4 there was a changed version of facts, facts, facts called Fact TV . Müller and Frier were the moderators, all the others were reporters who were supposed to answer “great questions of humanity”. Nottmeier and Nadolny were in different places, Kessler and Lamprecht were together in a pedestrian zone and were arguing. Here too it was often said: “Hoëcker, you are out!” And “Yes, why is that?”. Hoëcker, who was near a university, kept giving wrong answers here too. Fact TV was not well received, so after a few episodes it was replaced by facts, facts, facts .

- One of the 15 regular episodes of the first season was not included in the DVD release.
- One of the four best-of episodes of the second season ran under the title "Switch - Heroes" and also contained skits from the first season.
