Hera Lind (born Herlind Wartenberg on November 2, 1957 in Bielefeld ) is a German writer and singer . With more than twelve million books sold, such as A Man for Each Key and Das Superweib, she is one of the most successful authors of German-language entertaining women's literature . She also worked as a television presenter .

Life

Hera Lind is the daughter of a doctor and a music teacher . After graduating from the Hans-Ehrenberg-Schule in Bielefeld- Sennestadt , she studied theology and German at the University of Cologne with the aim of becoming a teacher. In 1981 she passed her first state examination. As a winner of the National Singing Competition in 1979 , she completed addition from 1979, a degree in opera and concert singing at the Cologne University of Music , which she in 1989 with the concert exam for opera and concert singer successfully completed. From 1982 she was a permanent member of the radio choir of the Westdeutscher Rundfunk for 16 years. She also went on concert tours as a vocal soloist and was involved in CD recordings of classical music as a singer.

In 1988 she was forced to pause singing during her first pregnancy; she used the time to write her first novel, A Man for Every Key , which became a great success. More novels followed in the early 1990s that became bestsellers ; many of these books were also made into films . Her publications after 1995 were comparatively less successful, but also often landed at the top of the bestseller lists. To date, their books that have been translated into numerous languages, a total circulation reached more than twelve million copies sold.

At the beginning of her career as a writer, she wrote only cheerful and enjoyable romance novels , the working protagonists of which are located in a wide variety of milieus, mastering difficult situations with humor and finding a new love in the process: from the classical concert singer in A Man for Every Key to the journalist in The success story up to the tour guide in The Surprise Man and others.

In 2010 she changed the genre and since then has only written thematically serious, so-called factual novels , based on real stories of women. The spectrum ranges from dramatic fates in the former GDR (including: Hell was the price ), a love affair with a homeless person ( heart-controlled ) to overcoming cancer ( Heaven and Hell ) and other subjects.

From 1995 Hera Lind hosted the talk show Hera Lind & People on ZDF , which achieved high ratings . In 1997 she switched to ARD , where she was unable to build on her success with ZDF with the show Herzblatt ; she moderated the show until 1998. In March 2007 she took part in the third season of the Austrian dance show Dancing Stars . Together with her partner Alexander Kreissl, she had to leave the show in round 2. In 2003 she starred as an actress in the film All Happiness on Earth .

Hera Lind was in a relationship with the doctor Ulrich Heidenreich, with whom she has four children. In 2000, Lind separated from Heidenreich in order to live with her new partner, the Austrian hotelier Engelbert Lainer. The fact that both were still bound and their relationship was targeted to the public caused a stir.

Hera Lind lives in Salzburg . In addition to her work as a writer, she also offers writing seminars in her novel workshop in Salzburg, tours with readings of her books and gives lectures, e.g. B. entitled On falling and getting up again . She is an ambassador for the German José Carreras Leukemia Foundation .
