The Pembroke Wanderers HC is an Irish hockey club founded in 1922 in the Dublin borough of Ballsbridge . The club's name is derived from the Earl of Pembroke, who owned larger lands in Sandymount in the south of Dublin. The club grounds are located around 2.5 km south of the city center near the Lansdowne Road stadium of the Irish Rugby Football Union .

The Pembroke Wanderers are around 500 members and have eight men's and nine women's teams in the league. The club has a water- blasted artificial turf , as well as a training field with half normal dimensions. In the course of the club's history, the club has won numerous regional and national titles, with the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland playing a joint All Ireland title, as in other sports . Pembroke qualified seven times for European competitions up to the 2007/2008 season, including in the debut season of the Euro Hockey League , but was eliminated in the preliminary round against KS Pocztowiec Poznań and Club Egara .
