Penal
Penal was a French measure of volume and grain of various sizes. In Franche-Comté , the measure was equal to the boisseau ( bushel ). The bichet can be viewed as a second measure . In Bourbonne the volume was weighed.

- Bourbonne 1 Penal = 72 pounds ( wheat ) = 68 pounds ( rye ) = 58 pounds ( oats )
- 1 penal = 328.46 Parisian cubic inches = 6.52 liters
