Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Dampierre-sur-Salon included the 21 municipalities of Ancier , Angirey , Apremont , Arc-lès-Gray , Battrans , Champtonnay , Champvans , Cresancey , Esmoulins , Germigney , Gray , Gray-la -Ville , Igny , Le Tremblois , Noiron , Onay , Saint-Broing , Saint-Loup-Nantouard , Sauvigney-lès-Gray , Velesmes-Échevanne and Velet . Its layout corresponded to an area of 195.10 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 7009.
