Pendle Water is a watercourse in Lancashire , England . It arises as Ogden Clough west of the summit of Pendle Hill , which belongs to the AONB of the Forest of Bowland and initially flows south along the mountain before turning east at its foot. The watercourse first feeds the Upper Ogden Reservoir and then the Lower Ogden Reservoir . At the mouth of the Barley Water at Barley , the watercourse changes its name to White Hough Water . In the town of Roughlee it changes its name to Pendle Water. After the mouth of Blacko Water west of Higherford , the watercourse turns south. It flows into the River Calder west of Brierfield .
