Peo Alfonsi

Paolo "Peo" Alfonsi (* 1967 in Iglesias ) is an Italian jazz musician ( guitar , composition ) who normally plays his instrument acoustically and works with world music material.

Act

Alfonsi completed a classical education at the Conservatory of Cagliari . He has performed with musicians such as Pat Metheny , Kenny Wheeler , Trilok Gurtu , Marc Ribot , Chris Laurence , Martin France , Paolo Fresu , Antonello Salis , Stefano Battaglia , Furio Di Castri and Elena Ledda and formed duos with Massimo Ferra, Sandro Fontoni and Norma Winstone and Roberto Ottaviano . He also worked in the Trio Ammentos with Fausto Beccalossi and Salvatore Maiore and in groups with Al Di Meola and Gabriele Mirabassi , with whom he also toured internationally. He also played two albums with Di Meola's New World Sinfonia and was involved in the meeting of Di Meola and Andrea Parodi and other musicians.

He also teaches jazz guitar at the Parma Conservatory .

Prizes and awards

In 1996 he won first prize at the Posada jazz competition. The Trio Ammentos was awarded the Premio Kramer for their album Remarkkramer 2008 .
