Pepi Lemer

Pepi Lemer (born May 25, 1944 in Ilfracombe , England ) is a British jazz singer .

Lemer, who comes from a musical family, had singing lessons from the age of five and later also dance lessons. She first worked in cabaret and theater. She continued to perform with the Spontaneous Music Ensemble , Centipede , Barbara Thompson , Michael Gibbs and with E , her husband's band, Pete Lemer . She also toured with Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard and was involved in recordings in pop and rock with Alan Price and Mike Oldfield . She founded Turning Point with Jeff Clyne and toured with Allan Holdsworth and Neil Ardley . Lemer has been working as a singing teacher since the mid-1980s. The singer, influenced by Urszula Dudziak , is responsible for the vocal training of the Spice Girls and Boyzone , Jennifer Saunders and Graham Norton

Lemer masters a repertoire from popular songs to abstract vocal acrobatics and free improvisation.
