Peppo Brivio

Giuseppe (Peppo) Brivio (born July 7, 1923 in Lugano ; † February 16, 2016 there ) was a Swiss architect and professor at the School of Architecture at the University of Geneva .

Life

Brivio was born the son of Italo Brivio, a boatman from Pianello del Lario . After attending the Lyceum and the Polytechnic in Milan , he studied at the ETH Zurich , where he obtained an architecture diploma from William Dunkel in 1947 . Between 1969 and 1990 he was Professor of Architecture in Geneva. He then worked with the architects Franco Ponti (1949–1950), René Pedrazzini (1949–1956), Rino Tami (1953–1956) and Vittorio Gregotti (1963–1964), developing a strict modern “poetry”.
