Per Olof Harald Gedda (born August 28, 1914 in Gothenburg , † July 4, 2005 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish sailor .
successes
Per Gedda, who was a member of Kungliga Svenska Segelsällskapet and Göteborgs Kungliga Segelsällskap , took part in two Olympic Games . In 1936 he made his debut at the games in Berlin in the 8-meter class when he was fourth as a crew member of Tore Holm with the Ilderim and narrowly missed the medals. He started in the kite boat class 16 years later at the Olympic Games in Helsinki . He was the skipper of the Tornado , whose crew consisted of Sidney Boldt-Christmas and Erland Almkvist . They won one of the total of seven races and finished second with 5555 points behind Thor Thorvaldsen's Pan from Norway and ahead of Theodor Thomsens Gustel X from Germany, with which they received the silver medal.
His uncle Erik Wallerius became Olympic champion in the 10-meter class in 1912 .
