Perfect Disaster - When Nature Runs Amok is a mini- series produced by the BBC in 2006 in the style of a fictional documentary , which plays through a worst case scenario in each episode of a possible natural disaster . A different scenario is dealt with in each episode . As an introduction, the everyday life of completely normal people is shown while the catastrophe is already looming. In between, experts have their say, and a speaker describes the events surrounding the disaster. In all episodes, large cities on earth are affected by the effects of extreme weather conditions and their consequences. In Germany, Perfect Disaster is broadcast by ProSieben .
Episodes
- Super tornado : A tornado of magnitude F5 on the Fujita scale is racing towards Dallas , Texas . It is stated that this is the most likely catastrophe of all the scenarios shown.
- Solar storm : In 2011 the earth is threatened by a solar storm . In the episode, the measures of the metropolis New York City are described. A solar storm would wipe out all electricity on earth as it would destroy all transformers.
- Firestorm : Sydney , Australia is threatened by a huge fire.
- Typhoon : A gigantic typhoon from the West Pacific threatens the city of Hong Kong .
- Mega tide : A huge tidal wave threatens the British capital London .
- Ice storm : Montreal , Canada is hit by an ice storm. The power pylons threaten to break under the weight of the ice and snow.

Each of these episodes depicts the most terrible scenario that could arise as a result of such a catastrophe. Every catastrophe was played out by experts and computers. The series was produced by Impossible Pictures , which in 1999 produced the documentary series Walking with Dinosaurs for the BBC . The computer animations are from Gareth Edwards (super tornado and solar storm); Lola (firestorm and ice storm) and Red Vision (mega flood and typhoon). In the UK the series of the BBC will air in the United States by Discovery Channel .
