Life

Kent grew up in a musical family. His parents were journalists and critics in the field of rock music . In addition, both were part of a trance and techno band in their youth , which led to Kent developing his interest in synthesizers as a result of his parents' home. His musical career originally began as a guitarist in some black metal bands . He has been producing dark, electronic music since 2012 and has already released a number of releases. The album The Uncanny Valley was released in 2016 on the Finnish label Blood Music and, like most of his releases, is available in many different versions ( CDs , cassettes , differently colored records ).

The music is part of the soundtrack for the computer games Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. The success of the games also contributed significantly to the success of Perturbator.

Kent also works with the side band L'Enfant De La Fôret .

Perturbator now gives regular appearances in several European countries.

style

The mostly dark, electronic music is inspired in its style by cyberpunk culture and by films like Akira , Ghost in the Shell and Running Man . The record covers and videos of the individual releases play with the aesthetics of Satanism , sex , the 1980s and video games , but at the same time are partly futuristic and dystopian . Kent uses different synthesizers for production, some of the older generation are emulated (e.g. the Oberheim OB-X) to create a retro effect.
