Peter Andersson (born April 13, 1991 in Kvidinge ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Växjö Lakers in the Svenska Hockeyligan since 2017 . His brother Tomas is also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Peter Andersson began his career as a hockey player with Åstorps IK. After several positions in lower-class junior teams, the defender moved to Frölunda HC in 2007 , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Elitserien in the 2007/08 season . In his only season assignment, he remained pointless and punished. He spent the rest of the season with Frölunda's junior teams and became champion of the SuperElit junior league with the U20s. In the following season he also played exclusively for the U18 and U20 juniors Frölundas. There he was able to convince, so that the Vancouver Canucks selected him in the NHL Entry Draft 2009 in the fifth round as a total of 143 players. In the 2009/10 season, the junior international played a total of 21 games for Frölunda in the Elitserien. At the same time he ran for Borås HC in the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan .
After he had received a professional contract with Frölunda HC last year, Andersson also began the 2010/11 season in the squad of the Swedish first division team, for which he played in the first ever international European Trophy before the start of the season. In eight games he scored two goals in this. At the same time he played again for Borås HC in HockeyAllsvenskan. He also signed a three-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks on June 2, 2010, but they left him in Sweden for the time being on loan.
After Andersson still in Sweden during the 2011/12 season Örebro HK had spent, he went in the summer of 2012 in the organization of the Vancouver Canucks over and played for their farm team , the Chicago Wolves or since the 2013/14 season , the Utica Comets in the AHL . After the defensive player could not recommend himself for a place in the NHL squad of the Canucks, he returned to Sweden in March 2015 and played again from the 2015/16 season at Örebro HK in the Svenska Hockeyligan .
International
For Sweden , Andersson took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2009 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2010 . At the U20 Junior World Championships in 2010 he and his team won the bronze medal. In addition to his appearances at the Junior World Championships, he played numerous friendly matches in different age groups.
