Peter Becher (journalist)

Peter Becher (* around 1940 ; † January 6, 2007 ) was a German radio journalist and church expert .

Life

As a radio journalist, Peter Becher reported in particular on church issues, mostly from Hanover , primarily on the North German Radio . In addition, Becher worked for the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) for several years .

From 1974, Becher worked in Addis Ababa for the Lutheran radio station Voice of the Gospel . From the capital of Ethiopia , for example, he reported in the weekly newspaper Die Zeit about the impending overthrow of Emperor Haile Selassie .

On behalf of the Lutheran World Federation, he headed the information service for Lutheran minority churches in Europe from Vienna from 1992 to 1994 .
