Music director Peter Brünsing (born January 17, 1944 in Sachsenhausen ) is a German trombonist and conductor .

From the age of 10 he received his first piano lessons and at the age of 14 began a musical education at the Berlin Technical School for Music . After graduating from college with a major in trombone , he was taken on for a four-year course at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin . He then joined the local music corps of the People's Police in Potsdam as the first trombonist in order not to be called up for military service.

From 1980 to 1984 he also completed a conducting course in Berlin in the conducting class of Prof. Förster. In 1983 he took over the management of the local music corps after having been deputy orchestra director since 1980. After the political change , the local music corps became the Potsdam Police Orchestra, but remained under Brünsing's direction.

From 1998 he conducted the Brandenburg State Police Orchestra , which was created through the merger of the two Brandenburg police orchestras in Frankfurt (Oder) and Potsdam . With a summer concert in the Nikolaisaal on June 26, 2002, Peter Brünsing gave up the leadership of the orchestra and was then officially retired by Interior Minister Jörg Schönbohm .

After his retirement, from 2003 to 2007 he took over the musical direction of the 1st Brandenburg Guards Brass Band Corps in Fürstenwalde from music director Siegmund Goldhammer .
