Peter Brunnert (born September 3, 1957 in Hildesheim ) is a German mountaineer and author.

Life

Brunnert grew up in Hildesheim, Lower Saxony. He has been active as a climber and mountaineer since 1972. After graduating from high school in 1976, he studied Romance studies and physical exercises for high school teaching in Göttingen from 1977 to 1983 . He completed his studies and legal traineeship with the first and second state exams. Additional training followed, and from 1988 to 2012 he was employed by an insurer in Detmold . During this time he devoted himself part-time to his writing. Since 2006 he has been going on extensive reading tours all over Germany. Since 2013 he has lived as a freelance author in Hildesheim and works for Panico Alpinverlag . Peter Brunnert is married.
