Peter M. Christian (born October 16, 1947 in Pohnpei ) is a Micronesian politician . On May 11, 2015, he was elected the eighth President of the Federated States of Micronesia to succeed Manny Mori . On May 11, 2019, David Panuelo was elected as his successor.

Christian graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa . From 1975 to 1979 he represented the city of Kolonia in the parliament of the state of Pohnpei .

In 1979, at the age of 32, Christian was elected the youngest member of the Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia . He was a member of parliament until 2007 and again in 2009, and parliamentary speaker from 2003 to 2007.
