Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia

The Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia is the parliament in the unicameral system of the Federated States of Micronesia .

Fourteen MPs are elected to Congress, ten of whom are elected for two years in ten single-electoral districts and four are elected for four years in each of the four states. All Micronesian citizens over the age of 18 are eligible to vote. Persons over the age of 30 who have had Micronesian citizenship for at least 15 years and have lived in the state in which they are running for at least 5 years are eligible to vote. Since there are no political parties in Micronesia, all MPs are independent.

The congress is located in the capital Palikir . Dohsis Halbert has been President of Parliament since 2012 .
