The Island Council ( German Inselrat ) is the parliament in the unicameral system of the Pitcairn Islands . This is the last remaining British overseas territory in the Pacific Ocean . Ten members are elected to parliament according to the Pitcairn Constitution .
The Island Council meets in Adamstown and consists of the governor, his deputy, an administrator (each without voting rights) and five council members, the vice mayor and the mayor.
The Island Council, in consultation with the Governor, has the power to pass laws and issue ordinances.
