Peter Dünnehaupt
Peter Dünnehaupt (born February 24, 1631 in Quedlinburger Neustadt; † June 24, 1682 there ) was a carpenter. He created several still preserved and the World Heritage Site belonging timbered houses in Quedlinburg.
Life
Dünnehaupt was born as Petrus , son of Andreas Dünhöft . There are different spellings for the family name: Dunneheubt , Dunneheupt , Duneheupt , Dunnehaupt , Dinhaupt , Dinnehaupt , Dinnehoupt , Duenhaupt or Duenhoupt . He lived in the Quedlinburg Neustadt behind the Augustinians . On September 1, 1657, he married Maria Wilcke , who was still a journeyman carpenter at that time . The daughter Salome is known as a child, who married the Quedlinburg master carpenter Andreas Besen on October 22nd, 1678 .
He worked as a carpenter in Quedlinburg. From the period between 1658 and 1679, 21 buildings constructed by him are known, most of which are located in the new town and the Neuweger suburb south of the old town .
The half-timbered houses he builds are usually only two-story and nine bundles wide. As decorations, he used pyramid beam heads , wooden parapets and sleepers with flat ship throats . Parapet struts can also be found on his early buildings . Later he added St. Andrew's crosses and diamonds in the parapet or border fields . Some of these were designed floor-to-ceiling.
