Peter Eržen (born December 13, 1941 in Kranj ) is a former Yugoslav ski jumper .

Career

Eržen made his international debut at the Four Hills Tournament in 1960/61 . However, he did not get any top 40 placements. He finished his first tour therefore only in 45th place overall. On his following Four Hills Tournament in 1961/62 he skipped jumping in Oberstdorf and only started in Innsbruck . However, again missed a top ranking and finally finished 61st on the tour. After a year break, he again did not take part in all of the jumping competitions in the 1963/64 Four Hills Tournament . So this time he skipped the jumping in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . Nevertheless, he was able to improve slightly and finished the tour in 41st place overall.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1964 , Eržen was part of the Yugoslav team. In jumping from the normal hill he jumped to an only mediocre 50th place. Even on the large hill, he couldn't get past 39th place.

At the Four Hills Tournament 1964/65 he started again, but broke off the tour after jumping on the Schattenbergschanze in Oberstdorf, where he reached 54th place. In the Four Hills Tournament in 1965/66 that followed a year later , he only landed in middle places in the first three competitions. At the last competition on the Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze in Bischofshofen, Eržen surprisingly finished sixth. After he had achieved his best individual result in his career, he finished his most successful tour with 741.2 in 21st place overall.

In the Four Hills Tournament 1966/67 and the Four Hills Tournament 1967/68 Eržen missed a repeat of this success. He finished the tours in places 30 and 44 of the respective overall ranking. Eržen played his last international tournament when he started at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble . However, there was no success here either. He was 51st on the normal hill and 44th on the large hill.
