Peter Euler

Peter Euler (born April 9, 1953 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German educator and university lecturer. He is university professor for general pedagogy and pedagogy of natural and environmental sciences at the Technical University of Darmstadt .

Life

Peter Euler trained as a chemical laboratory technician from 1968 to 1971 before attending the technical college with a focus on chemistry, which he graduated in 1972. In 1975 he obtained an engineering degree in chemical technology . From 1975 to 1978 he studied chemistry and German and completed the 1st state examination as a trade teacher . He studied pedagogy, philosophy and literary studies, graduating with a master's degree in 1980. In 1989 he received his doctorate with the thesis on pedagogy and universal dispute. On the importance of FI Niethammer's pedagogical polemic in Gernot Koneffke's . 1997 followed with technology and judgment. For the new version of the educational term the habilitation . From 1998 he taught as a private lecturer at the Institute for Pedagogy at the TU Darmstadt, where he had previously worked as a research assistant for six years. In 2001 he was appointed professor .

Euler has been married to Gisela Euler-Botsch since 1975 and has had a son named Serjoscha since 1979.

Awards

  • Gifted scholarship from 1977 to 1982, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung .
  • “Prize for excellent scientific achievements” (1989) from “the Association of Friends of the Technical University of Darmstadt eV Ernst Ludwig University Society” for his dissertation on pedagogy and universal dispute .
  • Athene Prize for Good Teaching (2016) from the Faculty of Human Sciences, "for his passionate and exemplary commitment as well as his appreciative attitude in conveying content as well as the supervision of students" (awarded by the Carlo and Karin Giersch Foundation at the Technical University of Darmstadt )
