Peter Fellin (born September 6, 1920 in Revò in the Non Valley ; † April 22, 1999 in Meran ) was an Italian painter from South Tyrol .

Life

Peter Fellin was born as the 16th child. He was orphaned at the age of three and adopted by his uncle Jakob Fellin in Graz at the age of eight . At the age of 15 he attended the trade school in Innsbruck and then for two years the arts and crafts school in Schwaz . In 1938/1939 he was a student at the Academy of Fine Arts under Herbert Boeckl , where he began to paint self-portraits .

The experience at the front in World War II was a formative time for him. After his release from captivity , he settled in Merano as a freelance artist. He married Herta Huber, with whom he had five children.
