Peter Fonk

Peter Fonk (born June 29, 1955 in Münster ) is a German moral theologian .

Life

From 1975 Fonk studied theology , philosophy and Slavic studies at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . In 1983 he was with a thesis on the philosophy of Arnold Gehlen in Würzburg Dr. phil. PhD . In 1989 he was in Würzburg with a dogmatic thesis on Kierkegaard to Dr. theol. PhD. In 1994 he completed his habilitation with Bernhard Fraling , professor at the Institute for Systematic Theology, for the subject of moral theology with the scripture Believe, Act and Justify. In 1994, he received a call to the chair of moral theology at the University of Passau . He is the head of the Catholic Theological Faculty. Since 2003 he has been head of the Institute for Applied Ethics in Business, Education and Training (ethik WAW).

Pope Benedict XVI awarded him the title of chaplain of His Holiness ( Monsignor ) on October 7, 2009 .

Johannes Brantl is one of his students .

Act

Peter Fonk has published numerous scientific publications; he is a member of the editorial board of the interdisciplinary journal Ethica. He is also involved in non-university advanced training.

He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for theological distance learning in Würzburg, the “General Council” of the Catholic Academy in Bavaria and a member of a working group of Commission VIII (Science and Culture) of the German Bishops' Conference .

Since 1999 he has been an honorary member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Oeno-Danubia in the Cartell Association (CV) .
