Peter Groh (born August 28, 1975 ) is a former German soccer player .

Athletic career

Groh started playing soccer at SSV Reutlingen . Via the youth department of the Stuttgarter Kickers he came to the youth department of the VfB Stuttgart . In 1994 the young man moved to FC Homburg in the 2nd Bundesliga , under coach Ulrich Sude he made his professional debut on the second match day of the 1994/95 season in a 3-1 win against FSV Zwickau as a substitute for Tobias Homp shortly before the end of the game. After he was then moved into the second tier , he only played more minutes in the last four games of the season after the premature relegation to the regional league .

In the summer of 1995 Groh then turned his back on the Saarland and moved to SV Bonlanden in the fourth-class Oberliga Baden-Württemberg . Under coach Peter Starzmann , he played eleven season games alongside ex-professional Ralf Vollmer and Alexander Zorniger before moving on to TSV Ofterdingen . There he did not stay long either, in 1997 he moved to VfL Halle 1896 in the Oberliga Nordost . Two years later he rose with the team in the Regionalliga Nordost , in the same year he won the Saxony-Anhalt Cup with the team .

In 2001 Groh returned to amateur football in Baden-Württemberg, where he first played six seasons at SV 03 Tübingen and then at VfL Nagold , before moving to Young Boys Reutlingen in 2009. In 2013 he moved to SG Reutlingen, from where he went to the second team of SSV Reutlingen . In the 2016/17 season he played for the second team of Young Boys Reutlingen, where he also worked as an assistant coach. He played a total of 83 games for Young Boys Reutlingen. He made headlines in the regional press in early 2013 when a player change due to objectionable formalities resulted in a long-term suspension. His main job is as an insurance broker.
