Peter Gropper

Peter Gropper (* 1554 ; † February 10, 1596 in Cologne ) was vicar general in Cologne.

Gropper, from a Soest patrician family, nephew of the famous Johannes Gropper , had been Dr. jur. and Professor of Law at Cologne University . Canon in Cologne since 1585 , he was rector of Cologne University from 1587 to 1589, from 1587 canon at St. Severin (Cologne) from 1592 canon at St. Andreas (Cologne) from 1594 provost of the Cassisus monastery in Bonn and from 14 June 1592 Vicar General of Archbishop Ernst of Bavaria . On February 10, 1596 elected dean to St. Andreas after he had already renounced his canonical to St. Severin in 1588.

After his death, at the age of 42, he was buried in the Maternus Chapel of Cologne Cathedral .
