Peter Heisch

Peter Heisch (born November 10, 1935 in Offenburg ; † January 26, 2019 ) was a Swiss writer , satirist and proofreader .

Life

Heisch grew up in Offenburg in Baden. From 1949 to 1953 he completed an apprenticeship as a machine setter at the Offenburger Tageblatt . In 1958 he moved to Zurich and in 1959 to Schaffhausen , where he worked as a proofreader . From 1992 to 2000 he was chief proofreader of the “ Schaffhauser Nachrichten ”.

Heisch also worked as a columnist for the satirical magazine “ Nebelspalter ” (from 1958), “ Weltwoche ”, the Zürcher “ Tages-Anzeiger ” and his house paper “Schaffhauser Nachrichten”. From 2002 to 2006 he was a board member of the Swiss Association for the German Language (SVDS). Heisch was also active as a writer and published several books.

His son is the musician Michael Heisch (* 1963).
