Peter Huber (historian)

Peter Huber (born July 26, 1954 in Zurich ) is a Swiss historian and private lecturer in modern general and Swiss history at the University of Basel .

Life

Peter Huber studied history , Romance studies and philosophy at the University of Zurich and received his doctorate in 1986. From 1989 he worked on several research projects, in particular on the fate of the Swiss in the Soviet Union (1991–1993), the apparatus of the Communist International (1994–1996) and on the Spanish Civil War (1997–1999). 1999–2003 he headed the research project “Biographical Handbook of the Comintern” at the University of Hanover . Since 1998 he has worked as a private lecturer in modern general history and Swiss history at the University of Basel.
