Peter J. Weber (born March 1, 1966 in Mannheim ) is a German economist and university professor . He is professor for media and communication management at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences .

Life

From 1988 to 1993 Weber studied business education and French at the Universities of Mannheim and Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium). He obtained his doctorate in 1996. phil. in Romance linguistics and business administration at the University of Mannheim. From 1996 to 2002 he was a research assistant at the Institute for International and Intercultural Comparative Education at the University of Hamburg . During this time, from 1997 to 1999, he represented the Comparative / International Educational Science department at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg. Since 1998 he has also been an independent personnel and organizational developer. He habilitated in 2001 for the subject of "Education and International Education" at the University of Hamburg. He then pursued a scientific career and was Senior Researcher at the Research Center for Multilingualism at the Katholieke Universiteit Brussel (Brussels) from 2002 to 2003 . During this time he was a fellow in the Faculty Enrichment Program of the Canadian Embassy for research on “Multilingual and multicultural online learning” in Canada. From 2003 to 2005 he was a temporary professor for adult education and new media at the University of Halle / Saale. From 2005 to 2007 he was research professor at the Katholieke Universiteit Brussel . In 2007 he took over the professorship for international business communication and the course director of the Bachelor in International Business Communication at the University of Applied Languages ​​of the SDI Munich . There he worked from 2009 to 2012 in university and education management as vice president and member of the management of the educational institution SDI. In 2012 he changed as rector of the SRH Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Medien Calw , whose rector until 2015 and its managing director from 2013 to 2015. From June 2015 to August 2016 he was a professor at Karlshochschule International University .

Research and Teaching

Weber teaches and researches in the field of international business and corporate communication with a focus on international marketing and language and education economics , European language and education policy and e-learning . He did research for the European Union, for example. B. in the projects EUROMOSAIC and LINEE (Languages ​​In a Network of European Excellence). He is co-coordinator of the inter-university doctoral program “Change processes in industrial and service professions and requirements for modern media learning environments in large companies / large organizations” and co-founder of the research association LINEE +. From 2007 to 2013 he held a visiting professorship at the University of Halle in the field of adult education. He is a consultant for educational institutions such as the CareSig Academy.
