Peter Ludwig Hendreich

Peter Ludwig Hendreich (born February 12, 1673 in Berlin , † August 1725 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) was a Kurbrandenburg librarian , court preacher at the Reformed Court Church in Potsdam , professor at the Alma Mater Viadrina .

Life

Origin and family

Peter Ludwig was the second son of the Gdansk- born professor of history at the Alma Mater Viadrina Christoph Hendreich († 1700). In 1699 he married Marie Amalie Ursinus (* 1682; † after 1710), daughter of the court preacher Benjamin Ursinus .

Career

After he had devoted himself to his studies for two years, he was after a recommendation by his father in 1692 by Elector Friedrich III. employed as librarian at the Royal Library of Berlin . As such, he is mentioned in Berlin address books from 1704 until his death . From 1697 he was second cathedral preacher at Hallesches Dom , but in 1700 he became court preacher in Potsdam. In 1722 he was finally appointed professor at the University of Frankfurt / Oder .

In 1706 Hendreich received the title of Dr. theol.
