Peter Münch (journalist)

Peter Münch (born June 27, 1960 in Witten ) is a German journalist .

Life

Peter Münch grew up in Düsseldorf and studied history and German. After completing his master's degree in Munich, he received his doctorate in history. Münch did an internship at a newspaper from 1985 to 1987 and from 1987 worked for the newspaper for communal economy (ZfK) of the VKU . In 1990 he became editor of the Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) in the areas of region, news and foreign policy. As a reporter , he reported from war and crisis areas, including the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq . Münch was the SZ correspondent in Israel . He also published his reports in book form. In the editorial office of the SZ, he was promoted to section head of page three. He has been the SZ correspondent in Vienna since August 2017 .
