Peter Mack (born January 30, 1959 ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach.

Player career

In his youth Peter Mack played for ESV Ingolstadt-Ringsee and MTV 1881 Ingolstadt . There he signed his first professional contract in 1979. Under Helmut Richert , he did not come into play in the 1979/80 second division season . It was only when Richert was replaced by Herbert Wenz at the end of the first half of the season that Mack was able to gain a regular place and played 19 games in which he scored four goals. At the end of the season, the MTV had to relegate third from bottom to the Bayern League. There they became champions in 1980/81 , but were not allowed to move up, as the 2nd Bundesliga was only played on a single track in the future.

Mack then moved to Hertha BSC . Peter Mack initially had difficulties asserting himself with the Berliners . However, when Georg Gawliczek was the new trainer, Mack came to five missions at the end of the 1981/82 season and was able to help Hertha rise as vice-champion. In the 1982/83 Bundesliga season , Hertha was the last to immediately relegate, and the season for Mack with only seven games, including only one over the full distance, did not go as hoped.

That's why Peter Mack moved to 1. FC Saarbrücken . Under Uwe Klimaschefski , he played in the first seven games in the 2nd Bundesliga every time, but injured himself so badly during the game at SG Union Solingen that he had to be replaced after half an hour and could not be used after that.

Coaching career

After his playing career, Peter Mack worked for years as a youth coach for FC Ingolstadt 04 . In May 2011 it was announced that Peter Mack will take over the coaching position at FC Gerolfing in the summer of the same year .
