Peter Metz (born December 10, 1984 in Erfurt ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 2004 to 2009 he was state chairman of the Jusos in Thuringia and from 2009 to 2014 a member of the Thuringian state parliament .

Career

After graduating from the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium in 2003, Metz did his community service in a nursing home in Erfurt and then worked for a year as a nursing assistant. From 2005 to 2009 he studied history and philosophy at the University of Erfurt and the Friedrich Schiller University Jena . From 2009 onwards, he continued his advanced training in the field of administrative sciences at the Administration and Business Academy in Erfurt.

Metz has been a member of the Jusos since 2000 and was elected regional chairman in 2004. In 2006 he became an assessor in the state board of the SPD Thuringia . For the state elections in 2009 , he moved into the Thuringian state parliament with 13th place on the SPD state list. He is also a member of the SJD - Die Falken and Ver.di .

Metz was one of the six of 24 members of the SPD state executive, who at the executive committee meeting on September 30th / 1. October 2009 voted for a union with the Left and the Greens and against coalition negotiations with the CDU .

He did not run again for the 2014 state election .

Political positions

On October 18, 2011, Metz demanded in a press release on the occasion of the sale of a property to the Gedächtnisstätte eV association "a kind of early warning system [...] that exposes the true convictions of potential buyers in good time".
