Peter Nadig (ancient historian)

Peter Nadig (born March 9, 1959 in Duisburg ) is a German ancient historian .

Life

After completing his technical college entrance qualification in design at the Duisburg-Zentrum vocational school in July 1981, from 1981 to 1987 he studied visual communication at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences with a degree in designer and then ancient history, medieval history , modern English and American studies at Heinrich-Heine- University of Düsseldorf , where he obtained the Graecum in 1989 and the Magister Artium degree in Ancient History in the 1993 summer semester. From October 1991 to June 1993 student assistant at the Chair of Ancient History ( Anthony Birley ). Since May 2016 he has been Full Professor of Ancient History at the University of Mekelle in Tigray , Ethiopia. Since January 2017 he has been coordinator for the PhD program in history at the College of Social Sciences and Languages.

His research interests are Pharaonic Egypt, Hellenism, Alexander the Great, the late Roman Republic, early Christianity, and military history.
