Peter Paul Yelezuome Angkyier (born November 26, 1961 in Monyupelle, Nandom , Ghana ) is Bishop of Damongo .

Life

Peter Angkyier attended St. Anne's Primary School in Damongo, then the Gegenkpe L / A Primary in Nandom, then St. Joseph's Primary School in Tamale. From 1977 to 1982 he was at St. Charles Minor Seminary / Secondary School, then attended Tamale Secondary School until 1984. This was followed by St. Victor's Major Seminary. On August 15, 1992, he received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Tamale . His first priesthood was the Uganda Parish in Bole 1992/93, then he came to St. Anne's in Damongo. From January 1995 to July 1996 he was chaplain for English-speaking students in the Archdiocese of Vienna (Austria) and has spoken German since then. From September 1996 to June 2000 he studied psychology in Rome. He then worked at St. Augustine's Millennium Major Seminary in Tamale until 2003. From June 2002 to February 2009 he was Vicar General in Damongo.

On December 17, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Damongo. The Archbishop of Tamale, Philip Naameh , donated him episcopal ordination on March 25, 2011 ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Obuasi , Gabriel Justice Yaw Anokye , and the Bishop of Wa , Paul Bemile .

Peter Paul Angkyier maintains many good contacts outside his home country, including with the diocese of Münster and the parish of Kuchl in Austria. He was an avid footballer and still describes himself as a shepherd who cares for his people today, in his youth it was goats and sheep.
