The Bistum Obuasi ( latin Dioecesis Obuasiensis ) is an in Ghana preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Obuasi . It includes the districts of Obuasi, Amansie, Adansi and Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma in the Ashanti region .

history

Pope John Paul II founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Apostolicum opus on March 3, 1995 from cession of territory by the Diocese of Kumasi and it was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Cape Coast as a suffragan diocese.

On December 22, 2001, it became part of the Kumasi Church Province.
