Peter Raule

Peter Raule (born March 5, 1891 in Vorderheubach , Heidelberg district; † September 6, 1972 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was President of the Savings Banks and Giro Association in Baden from 1945 to 1956 and was a member of the Baden State Parliament (FDP) from 1947 to 1952 .

Career

After attending elementary school, secondary school and commercial college, he trained with various state authorities for administrative, auditing and accounting services for the Baden internal state administration. In 1913 he passed the auditor's examination and initially worked as an auditor for the city of Pforzheim and as a senior auditor at the Baden State Insurance Company.

From 1921 he built up the administration and auditors of the Badischer Sparkassen- und Giroverband in Mannheim and acted there from April 1, 1924 as auditor. From 1931 he was also head of the Baden city auditors. After the end of the Second World War, he took over the office of President of the Savings Banks and Giro Association in the French occupied territory. At the same time, he was chief de file of the French military government for the savings bank sector in Baden and acting head of the Baden municipal administration and savings bank school. In 1956 he retired.

Raule was an early believer in political liberalism. He joined the Progressive People's Party in 1917 and after its dissolution in 1918 became a member of the German Democratic Party (DDP). After the collapse of the Third Reich in 1945 he was one of the founders of the FDP in Baden. From March to May 1947 he was a successor to Ernst Walker as a representative of the Democratic Party of the Advisory State Assembly of Baden and was a member of the Baden State Parliament from 1947 to 1952. In 1951 he was appointed as a deputy member of the Provisional Council of Ministers of the newly formed Southwest State.

Raule was a supporter of the European movement and temporarily chairman of the district association of the European Union . From 1946 to 1949 he was a liaison officer for the American welfare organization CARE in the French occupation zone.
