Peter Sönnichsen (born December 28, 1953 in Flintbek ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2005 to 2017 he was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein State Parliament .

Life and work

After completing secondary school in 1969, Sönnichsen completed an apprenticeship as a real estate and housing manager at Heimbau Schleswig-Holstein eG until 1972 . He then did his military service as a temporary soldier and returned to his training company in 1975 as a sales representative. In 1978 he moved to Kieler Wohnungsbau GmbH and in 1983 finally to Richard Rahn Bauunternehmung GmbH in Klausdorf .

Peter Sönnichsen is a Protestant, married and has two children and two grandchildren. He lives in Wankendorf.

Sönnichsen joined the CDU in 1989 and was chairman of the Wankendorf CDU local association between 1990 and 1994 .

From 1990 to 2008 he was a community representative in Wankendorf and a member of the official committee. From 1994 to 2003 Sönnichsen was also honorary mayor of the community.

Since 2003 he has been a member of the district council of the Plön district . Until 2008 he was the chairman of the Committee on Economy, Energy and Tourism. Between 2008 and 2018 he was district president of the Plön district.

After the district election in 2018 , he resigned from the CDU parliamentary group and has been a non-attached member of the district council ever since . The reason he named the CDU parliamentary group's "unprofessional handling" of the election results after they had previously decided not to support him in another candidacy for district president and had suggested Werner Kalinka , who was not elected in four ballots.

From 2005 and 2014 Sönnichsen was chairman of the CDU district association Plön.

MP

In the 2005 state elections, Peter Sönnichsen was elected to the state parliament with 45.1% of the first votes in the Plön-Süd constituency. In the 2009 and 2012 elections , he was re-elected with 38.5% and 37.8% of the first votes in Plön-Süd and Plön-Süd / Eutin , respectively .

As a member of parliament, he participated in all three terms as a member of the Finance Committee, which he chaired in his second term. He was also a member of the European Committee until 2009, from 2009 to 2011 a member of the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry into HSH-Nordbank and from 2012 a member of the Education Committee.
