Peter Spahn (historian)
Peter Spahn (born June 13, 1946 in Seligenstadt ) is a German ancient historian .
Peter Spahn studied history, German and political science. Spahn received his doctorate in 1973 from the University of Cologne and habilitated in 1982 at the University of Bielefeld , where he became professor in 1983. From 1988 until his retirement in 2009, he taught as a university professor for ancient history at the Free University of Berlin , specializing in ancient economic and social history . Some of his main areas of interest are the "Dark Ages of Greece" and early Christianity in Sicily.
