Peter Stöcklin (born January 14, 1983 in Lörrach ), also known as Chabezo , is a German singer and rapper .

Life & work

Stöcklin works as a youth worker in Switzerland . After graduating from high school in Schopfheim and a one-year internship at the GSR in Riehen , a school for young people with speech impairments and deaf people, he studied social work at the University of Social Work (FHNW) in Basel and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts.

In 2001 he formed his first band "[bih'tnik]", with which he three albums in ten years on fire , No Return and strobe produced. During the time with "[bih'tnik]" the solo project Chabezo came about .

Stöcklin has been the lead singer of the band Otto Normal since October 2010 . He won several awards with the formation and made various appearances on television. In 2014 they performed together with other artists in front of the Brandenburg Gate on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Otto Normal released the albums Wahnsinn (2012), Das Neue Normal (2014) and Wieder Wir (2018). In addition to Stöcklin, Otto Normal are Lukas Oberascher (keyboards), Emanuel Teschke (bass), Anthony Greminger (drums), and Sebastian Scheipers (guitar).

Together with Sebastian Scheipers he founded the company " Fresh Air Music " in Berlin in 2016 , under whose label he produces artists such as Moritz Jahn and Katharina Stark .

He also produces music for film and advertising.

Social Commitment

Stöcklin is a co-founder of the “Spende Deine Zeit eV” association, which aims to promote voluntary work. In 2014 the association carried out the international project "Have A Say" , which worked together with the "Chungking Mansions Service Center" (reception center for refugees) in Hong Kong . He produced a CD from text ideas and song material from the refugees on site. The final work was carried out with musicians, artists and designers from the border triangle of Germany, France and Switzerland ( RegioTriRhena ), with all activities being carried out by 124 people on a voluntary basis. All proceeds from CD sales go directly to the refugee organization Christian Action - Chungking Mansions Service Center in Hong Kong.

In 2014, Stöcklin was a co-founder of the non-profit entrepreneurial company “Standard Needs Diversity” (gUG). The initiative launches art and cultural projects and campaigns for an open society. In 2015, “Norm Needs Diversity” published the debut album Kickeria by Boxitos, an inclusion band in which young people with disabilities make music together with musicians from Switzerland and Germany. The song project "Bunt wie Musik", supported by Otto Normal, with students from a Berlin school, young adults with disabilities and senior citizens was among the finalists in the MIXED UP competition of the Federal Association for Cultural Education for Children and Young People (BKJ) 2017. The "Hardly Different" Music project with severely disabled people in Müllheim (Baden) performed at the international inclusion festival “Markhof rocks” 2017. On August 29, 2015, on the open day of the Federal Chancellery , Norm Needs Diversity was represented with a stand.
