Peter Tom-Petersen (born March 5, 1861 in Thisted ; † July 27, 1926 in Ærøskøbing ) was a Danish etcher and architectural draftsman.

Life

After attending school in Maribo, Peter Petersen studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen from 1877 to 1881 . From 1883 to 1884 he was a student of Léon Bonnat in Paris. He made genre pictures and related motifs from Copenhagen and provincial cities such as Ribe, Faaborg and Helsingør. From 1891 to 1892 he traveled to Italy. His painting "Fra Svendborgsund" was shown in 1889 at the World Exhibition in Paris and became a French honorable excellent. He worked as an illustrator for magazines, but mainly made etchings. In 1905 he stayed in Rothenburg and in 1908 worked in Lübeck and Hamburg. In 1920 he changed the family name to "Tom-Petersen" and thus included the maiden name of his mother Maren Andrea "Thomsen".
