Peter Wald

Peter Wald junior (born February 12, 1883 ; † July 17, 1954 ) was a German architect . He mainly worked in Mehlem , where he now lives in the Bad Godesberg district of Bonn .

Life

In Mehlem alone, around 40 to 50 houses can be traced back to the forest. His most important project could be the implementation of the extensive conversion of the Villa Deichmann in the “Mehlemer Aue” into a castle-like property for the banker Wilhelm Theodor Deichmann (1864–1929) in the years 1910 to 1912, which he - possibly without his own design to contribute - essentially implemented according to the client's ideas.

Wald was also active in local politics. On November 2, 1919 and again on May 4, 1924, he was elected to the Mehlem municipal council. From 1921 to 1930 Wald worked as an honorary alderman of the Godesberg mayor's office (from 1927 Godesberg office ). From February 12, 1946 he was a city councilor for the CDU in Bad Godesberg. In 1947, Wald was elected chairman of the "Mehlem Beautification Association (VVM)", which in 1965 became part of the " Association for Homeland Care and Local History Bad Godesberg eV ". He held both offices until the end of his life.
