Petra Beáta Farkas (born April 30, 1999 ) is a Hungarian long jumper who occasionally competes in the sprint .

Athletic career

Petra Farkas gained her first international experience at the European Youth Olympic Festival in the Georgian capital Tbilisi , where she was eliminated in the long jump and with the Hungarian 4 x 100 meter relay in the qualification. A year later she took fourth place at the European Youth Championships, which were held for the first time there . In 2017 she took part in the U20 European Championships in Grosseto , where she also took fourth place with 6.28 m. In 2018 she reached fifth place at the U20 World Championships in Tampere with 6.16 m. In 2019 she jumped 6.24 m at the European Games in Minsk to eighth place and then won the silver medal behind French Hilary Kpatcha at the U23 European Championships in Gävle with a width of 6.55 m . She also qualified for the World Championships in Doha , where she did not reach the final with 6.44 m .

In 2017 Farkas became the Hungarian champion in the long jump outdoors and in 2019 in the hall. In addition, she won the 4 x 100 meter relay outdoors in 2019 and the 60 meter indoor run in 2020 .
