Petra Lobinger

Petra Lobinger (born Laux , first marriage Schneider ; born January 24, 1967 in Weidenau ) is a former German athlete who specialized in the triple jump .

In 1992 she was the first German champion in the triple jump. Other titles followed from 1996 to 1998, when she won three times in a row, both outdoors and indoors. In contrast, she could not achieve podium places at international championships. At the World Athletics Championships in 1993 in Stuttgart and at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, she was eliminated in qualification. She achieved her best international result with fifth place at the World Indoor Championships in Paris in 1997 , when she set a German indoor record with a width of 14.36 m that lasted for almost 14 years. At the European Indoor Championships in Valencia in 1998 , she finished eighth.

Petra Lobinger is 1.80 m tall and had a competition weight of 67 kg. She started for the LAG Siegen and later for the athletics department of TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen . Her first marriage was to the long jumper Wolfgang Schneider . In 1994 she married the pole vaulter Tim Lobinger , whom she met at the 1993 World Athletics Championships in Stuttgart. This marriage resulted in two children. The couple divorced in 2003. Her son Lex-Tyger Lobinger is a player in the Football Regionalliga West at SG Wattenscheid 09 .
