Petra Maria Kraxner

Petra Maria Kraxner (* 1982 in Zams , Tyrol ) is an Austrian writer .

Life

Petra Maria Kraxner studied English , American , theater , film and media studies in Vienna as well as scenic and lyric writing at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig .

Her piece Blau Baum Grün was performed in 2005 in Prague and Edinburgh as part of the Fringe Festival . In 2008 she was invited to the author workshops at the Vienna Burgtheater with her play KESt . Staged readings of Kraxner's pieces took place at the Burgtheater , the Volkstheater (Vienna) (March 2010), the Freiburg Theater and the Innsbruck Literaturhaus (January 2010).

In 2009, Petra Maria Kraxner was awarded the State of Tyrol's Large Literature Scholarship for the dramatization of Georg Trakl's biography .

The world premiere of her play Die Bläue remains in About 52% took place within the framework of the Tyrolean Dramatists Festival in June 2012. In 2013 Kraxner's play The legal ordinance for the refinement of this world was premiered at the Burgtheater Vienna and played at the Landestheater Innsbruck .

She has published lyric texts in magazines and anthologies.

As part of the symposium “It doesn't matter. Body pointless ”from the Elfriede Jelinek research platform at the University of Vienna, Kraxner gave a critical speech in 2014 on the situation of young dramatists. As a result, the performance Jung & Kreativ # lifelong was created .

Petra M. Kraxner's Elektra and the Bear came to the world premiere at the Free Theater Innsbruck on November 13, 2015 . The order for this work, a co-production by Westbahntheater and Theater Praesent, was awarded as part of the “ANTIKE.frauen.HEUTE” competition. Petra M. Kraxner's Medusas Floß , a commissioned work for the Vorarlberger Landestheater Bregenz , premiered on January 15, 2016 under the direction of Alice Asper.

In June 2015, Petra Maria Kraxner received the Great Literature Scholarship from the State of Tyrol for a drama project on social statistics.
