From 1975 he was a member of the Association for Free and Applied Art eV in Darmstadt , which has had a permanent place in Darmstadt's art scene for decades. From 1950 onwards, numerous exhibitions took place at home and abroad.

His paintings are an expression of his intensive search for the ideal effect of a particular composition. The painting of the natural or cultural landscapes was light and airy, determined by the play of light on nature. The colors flow into one another. His still lifes work through a clever arrangement, through coloristic stimuli and fine lighting. The symbols in his still lifes are very often flowers , the glorification of God in his works. Plants, often avenues of trees, represent the four seasons and symbolize the course of the year.
