Career
Petri Vehanen began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth of Lukko Rauma , for whose professional team he was active in the SM-liiga from 1995 to 1998 . The goalkeeper then played for Viking Hockey in the Norwegian GET league for a year before he was between the posts for Lukko in Finland in another six years. During this period he also made four appearances for HC Pustertal in the Italian Serie A in the 2000/01 season . In the summer of 2005, the Finn signed with Mora IK from the Swedish Elitserien , for which he was also active for a season, as then for Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk in the Russian Super League . From 2006 to November 2009 Vehanen competed again with Rauma in the SM-liiga. Then he was given in exchange for the Swede Mikael Tellqvist to the reigning Russian champion Ak Bars Kazan from the Continental Hockey League .
After the 2011/12 season Vehanen returned from the KHL to his home club. Another year later he received another contract with the KHL, this time with HC Lev Prague . With Lev Prague he reached the KHL play-off final in 2014. After this success, however, the club withdrew from gaming.
From the 2014/15 season Vehanen was under contract in the DEL with the Eisbären Berlin , where he ended his career after the lost final of the 2017/2018 season.
