Petter Andersson (born February 20, 1985 in Ljusvattnet ) is a Swedish football player . The offensive player, who appeared in two international matches for the Swedish national team in 2005 , has been under contract with Hammarby IF since 2016 .

Career

Andersson started playing football at Ljusvattnets IF before moving to Sunnanå SK . For the club, he was already used as a youth in 2001 in the fourth-class Division 3 Norra Norrland and was simultaneously appointed to the Swedish U-16 team, where he made his debut in August of that year in the 2-0 defeat by the Danish youth team.

In 2002 Andersson was poached by the higher-class Skellefteå AIK . For the club he ran two seasons in the third division Division 2 Norrland and was able to establish himself in both the U-17 and the U-18 selection of Sweden.

Shortly before the end of the 2003 season , Andersson was committed by Hammarby IF . With two short appearances in the Allsvenskan , he contributed to the runner-up behind Djurgårdens IF and the associated qualification for the 2004/05 UEFA Cup . In the following season he won a regular place and was used in all 26 games of the season. He made himself interesting for national coach Lars Lagerbäck and on January 22, 2005 the midfielder made his debut in the national team in a 1-1 draw against South Korea alongside other newcomers like George Mourad and Markus Rosenberg , who also scored the goal for Sweden . After he was still one of the regulars at Hammarby IF in the following season, he was increasingly vulnerable to injury in the following years. After over a hundred games in Sweden's elite series, he left Hammarby IF in late summer 2008.

Andersson went to the Dutch club FC Groningen in the Eredivisie , where he should replace Stefan Nijland, who had switched to PSV Eindhoven . He signed a four-year contract with his new employer, with whom he formed a Swedish quartet with fellow countrymen Andreas Granqvist , Fredrik Stenman and Marcus Berg .

In the first half of the series in the Netherlands, Andersson injured his cruciate ligament in January 2009 . After his recovery in the fall of that year, he first played in the club's reserve team. He injured his knee again during a team game.
